Musical improvvisation

Son of art, he and the brothers Sandro and Dario are considered among the best realities of Italian jazz. He began very young to study the piano, and then continued with the clarinet to finally pass the alto saxophone to 16 years, an instrument that has never left, following in fact a growing passion for Jazz.

After the Technical Maturity (1989) he graduated in Saxophone (1998) at the Conservatory "G. Martucci" of Salerno, playing in parallel an intense activity of jazz concertist mainly as saxophonist (alto, baritone, soprano and tenor) and pianist, playing however sometimes also flute, bass and soprano clarinet, percussions.

In 2005 he graduated with honors in Jazz Music at the Conservatory "S. Pietro a Majella" of Naples, under the guidance of Maestro Bruno Tommaso and Maestro Pietro Condorelli.

In 1996 he ranks 2nd in the 1st "Massimo Urbani" competition for alto saxophonists, held in Urbisaglia (MC).

He plays in several TV and radio productions, on Rai and Mediaset: Pippo Chennedy Show (1997), Comici (1998), Saranno Maturi (1999), L'Ottavo Nano (2001), Furore (2001 and 2003), Bravo, Grazie! (2004), Attenti a Quei Due (2013), Non Sparate On Pianist (2013).

Since 1998 he plays regularly in the vocalist band Gege Telesforo, recording with him 5 records.

Always attracted by the Afro-Cuban sounds, he formed the band "Cuban Stories" in 1999, also making 2 albums in his name: in 2004 with Groove Master Edition he created "Cuban Stories", in 2012, published by Dodicilune, realizes "Nuevas Huellas" .

In 2015 he made his first recording work (in his name) entitled "Lucky Man", published by JandoMusic, with Fabrizio Bosso, Julian O. Mazzariello, Dario Deidda, Alessandro Paternesi.

From 2005 to 2010 he taught at the "G. Martucci" Conservatory of Salerno, taking courses in Theory and practice of Jazz improvisation.

From 2012 to 2016 he taught Jazz Saxophone at the "J. Tomadini" Conservatory of Udine.

In 2014-15 he was Professor of Musical Improvisation Techniques at the "F. Torrefranca" Consortium of Vibo Valentia.

In 2015-16 he was Professor of Musical Improvisation Techniques at the "C. Pollini" Conservatory of Padua.

From 2016-17 he is Professor of Musical Improvisation Techniques at the "J. Tomadini" Conservatory of Udine.

He is currently part of the project "Soundz For The Children" for Unicef, with the band of Gege Telesforo, and of the project "L'Insiùm" with Glauco Venier and Michele Corcella, a stable creative workshop made up of 12 of the best musicians from all 'Italy.

During his career he has played with internationally renowned jazz musicians including: Mike Stern, Tom Harrell, Jimmy Owens, Lester Bowie, Peter Erskine, Ronnie Cuber, Michel Petrucciani, Mulgrew Miller, Carl Anderson, Carl Allen, Norma Winstone, Kurt Elling

Among the various musicians with whom he collaborated are Gegè Telesforo, Gianni Basso, Romano Mussolini, Enrico Rava, Roberta Gambarini, Giovanni Tommaso, Franco D'andrea, Flavio Boltro, Glauco Venier, Maurizio Giammarco, Stefano Di Battista, Dado Moroni, Fabrizio Bosso, Umberto Fiorentino, Antonio Faraò, Danilo Rea, Tullio De Piscopo, Roberto Gatto , Max Ionata, Andrea Pozza, Julian Mazzariello, Domenico Sanna, Alessandro Lanzoni, Rosario Bonaccorso.
